The Le Guin was an attempt by Intros Designs to produce a completely new freighter design to replace the aging Gemmell . The original concept had a lot of potential, but a series of compromises and concessions during the design process left it a bizarre ship which fails to excel at anything. Most active Le Guin freighters have been heavily modified by their owners to make up for their shortcomings, and Intros Designs has recently ceased production of the freighter to meet growing demand for the Duncan class.
